David,

I don't think your beam is failing.  More likely it's the fiberglass pan 
that forms the cabin sole.  If that's sagging, the bulkheads will sag 
and so will the beam.  If so, the fix is to glass in some support under 
it at the step up to the forward cabin.

I've also heard of a few boats where the bulkheads were cut a little 
small, and sagged in the slots of the pan.  I'd suggest looking around 
carefully to find what's not quite in place.
