thanks, Mike. This was the one that seems most practical. I am really interested in the vent above the deck - how much it projects above the deck. I am assuming I would install it on the starboard bulkhead in the salon.

Here is the the one that George has and I bought on his recommendation. It 
is great. Warm dry heat. Your needs may be different, the the solid fuel 
heaters work well for us on the Chesapeake for those chilly early spring 
late-Fall/early winter nights. I would not hesitate to purchase this product 
again, it is a nice addition to the boat and helps to extend the season. One 
recommend I would make...buy it directly from Dickinson. I saved on sales 
tax and they did not charge any shipping. Everyone I looked at in the West 
Marine stores had been opened, parts seemed missing and it was not the 
current modle [plus they wanted more for it].

heaters. Which one do you have and what results do you get from it. Would
