Never have the boom to weather. Dump the traveller in heavy air but keep the 
sheet tight. In heavy air, sail with a "fisherman's reef" in needed. Def: 
Full main but backwinded to depower the main. The best tactic we ever used 
[here go some secrets] was to set the sheet and the crew person on the rail 
furthest aft held a line that adjusted the traveller up and down. The 
helmsman and traveller person worked together. As the traveller person saw 
the helmsman starting to fight the helm, he would dump the traveller until 
the gust subsided, then slow bring it back to center. It's a lot of work and 
coordination, but it got us a first in C A N A D A...in heavy air [28+]

First of all thanks to everyone about the weight distribution question.

Now... on to racing and setting the mainsail.  Where is the best place
to put the traveler in light (5-10)/medium (10-15)/heavy  (15-20) and
really kick butt (20-30mph) air on all points of tack?
