    Further to my last comment, I persume you don't use the boat for racing,
and thus have no qualms or restrictions on one-design modifications. The
easiest way to solve the problem of having a mast that is easy to raise is to
go to a carbon mast. They are so much lighter than the one we have. Good luck
with that.
