[Public-list] weight distribution/racing

The late Alberg racing wizard Gord Proctor used to keep the water tank about
1/3rd full - same with fuel. At his peak he was unbeatable on the Great
Lakes. Nothing heavier in the lockers than lifejackets - nothing in the
lazerette at all. All weight below aft of the mast step.
Skipper near the bridge deck - crew forward of the skipper and aft of the
mast whenever possible except running downwind in air - then some crew aft
to lengthen the waterline, but not so many as to submerge the trailing edge
of the transom.

Hope this is a help.

The ice is moving out - soon back to things pelagic.

Cheers,
JB
