[Public-list] Companionway Ladder

My wife finds the standard companionway steps
insufficient (she has bad feet and other problems that
make her less sure footed).  I saw an acticle either
in an old newsletter or in the maintenance manual (or
both) that detailed a replacement ladder.

Any one done this or anything else to ease access to
the cabin?  Any ideas or things I should consider
before proceeding?
