I have never really fixed an old head. I have rebuilt several, but they  
never work as well as a new one,
 
The last time my head started to leak, I waited for a sale on a new Jabsco  
manual pump model. For about $11.00 I made my wife smile. The head has been in  
about 3 years now and still working well. For $30 a year, replacement is my 
new  strategy to rebuilding.
