I could probably spend an entire summer just exploring around my 
home-Eastern Bay and Choptank, but as you are coming from offshore to lower 
Bay...

It's possible to anchor in Sarah Creek on York river (North side, just below 
drawbridge). there is a car rental place in Glochester that will deliver you 
a car, you take the guy back to the business, then you can go to 
Williamsburg (or Busch Gardens) for the day, resupply, and turn the car back 
in-they'll take you back to your boat, all for the price of a day's car 
rent.
What a deal.
On the other hand, Cape Charles, Onancock, Crisfield, Hooper Strait to 
Soloman's, on up to Oxford keeps you in some pretty special cruising areas. 
I think you are too deep for Tangier/Smith Islands, though.
