You can buy an aftermarket replacement which would fit the bill and be a
sincere and good faith tip of the hat to the rules. I should be inspected
to fo find out the specific events behind somthing like that you can check
with Rick or Debbie Chambers who lost their mast a number of years ago and
had to go through that process.
I suggest that if you choose to power your boat with an outbored then do
so but do not remove the old Iron Genny or Prop and prop shaft.
This will be a good faith effort and since you will be competing with
standard equipment there should be no problem.
