Michael,
The Timbuktu sank above the engine vefore some good pals of mine at our
club pumped the water out. I had forgotten to turn off a seacock and my
sink drain hose got knocked out of place and I think must have syphoned
water into the cabin. I had taped every hatch, and lazerette, anywhere
water could get in so my bildge pump wouldn't run my batteries dead.
Dang, that one handle I forgot to close. Any who, I have two spare
engines that have been rebuilt...now the decision: stick with another
atomic 4 or convert to the universal 11.2 diesel. I really enjoy the
power of the A4 (30hp) vs the 11.2 diesel, though, yep, I realize there
is more torque with diesels, I just don't think it could match the speed
I need sometimes in the bay when a storm hits suddenly.

Also, I don't know what happened underneath my boat, but I will make a
dive after the bay clears up a bit more and take a look. Hell, half my
rudder could be gone for all I know! But I doubt it as I had the pointy
end of the boat at the dock and my slip is too short for me boat so I
expect when it went over the pilings the rudder was well clear. We lost
at least 60 boats on the first four docks that are closest to the mouth
of the harbor. Not to mention we get to built a new club house! I'd
just be happy with a tiki hut, bar and grill, but all our "chicken
eaters" will be wanting some high faluting club house. "It's the
yatching, stupid!"

Patty
