Pete:
I have owned 3 Albergs in 30 years and they have all had the same problem.
Old Alberg's or new with liner and aluminum beam the foward bulkhead wall must
be supported on both sides with a compression post
through the cabin floor to the keel. This is an easy task. Just get your
hands on some oak, ash, maple or other hard wood and rip it down to
1.75"x 3" radius it 1/2" with router or hand plane. Place supports near door
jam on both sides of foward bulkhead wall port and starboard and cut a hole
in floor to match profile of support. Drill through supports and wall bolt and
plug holes with wood bungs. Fiberglass timbers with epoxey to keel. Sand and
varnish and no more coach roof problems.
I did this 10 years ago to my Alberg 30 Hull No ? and i have never had a
problem; I sail haard.
