I knew a fellow when I was a boy whose parents took the tiller away from
their boat so that he could not take it out without permission (I thought he
was amusing then, now that I am a father I shudder to think what sort of
child would drive parents to resort to such a thing...)  Undaunted, he
snapped a  large set of Vice Grips to the shaft and went on several late
night expeditions in the boat.
