the most cost effective is to rebuild. I had this done
before my trip to Florida and after 5000 miles of motoring
had no problems. I did the rebuild myself except for
putting sleeves into the block and new valve guides. I
added electronic ignition, oil filter, pcv valve and fresh
water cooling total cost was about $3,000 canadian. I could
not justify $10,000-$12,000 to repowering with diesel.
