A guppie is sometimes called a grouper anode. It is a zinc on a wire that connects to a screw in the deck that is connected to a wire that runs to the engine ground.

When the bullet zinc is put on the end of the shaft, you can't use the  
cotter pin anymore, right? Any one had any problems because of this?
 
And,
what is the 'guppy system'? :)
