Mark,

regardless of what zinec you decide to use, 6 years is too long to expect 
from a zinc. I change my every year. Depending on where you keep your boat 
that time period could be shorter or longer, but I cannot imagine a zinc 
last six years.

What type/model/size zinc are being used on propella shaft? The previous 
owner used a guppy system. During hurricane repair I found the shaft key 
securing the prop's rotation was all but gone. I've had the vessel six 
years.
