[Public-list] Woolsey winch

I have a Woolsey winch that is supposed to be self-tailing, but the 
self-tailer just goes around with the winch barrel, when it ought to 
remain stationary. Does anyone have such a winch, or know anything about 
it?   It was patented in 1967, same year my boat was built.
