[Public-list] bow roller for cqr anchor

I think it might. I have my roller reefing attached on the second hole
in the stem head. the first hole I use for the spinnaker block. If you
got a smaller roller, there would be more room. I think you are correct
in thinking it might be tight, but with an adjustment or two, I think it
could work.

Will this work for an Alberg with hank on jib? It looks like the
bracket
part of the roller assembly is too close to the center part of the stem
head
where the sail is attached.

the dimensions of the block are 10 L x 3 W x 2 H. The block is notched
so that it does not interfere with the stem head fitting.

the block goes up on to the stem head fitting. It does not go all the
way to the edge of the stem head fitting. Maybe an inch or a little
more
of the anchor roller is not supported by the block. If I did it again,
I
would shape the block so the whole of the bow roller was supported by
the block.

It is held on by 5 bolts one of which goes through the stem head
fitting

It is solidly backed up on the underside.

the block rests on the stem head fitting and on the deck. there is
lots
of caulking under it to keep water out. If I did it again I would
notch
the block so it fit flat on both the stem head fitting and the deck.

I took some more pictures which I will attach. They are resized.

They will give you and others a better view of how I did it. It has
worked very well so far. I think the thing I need most is a stainless
steel plate to protect the bow from anchor impact when it comes up.

Precise dimensions probably aren't necessary. It looked, to me, that
the block extends forward a fair amount. I notice on

that the wood is notched on the forward end. Does it run up to the
bow

casting?

Is the whole thing held in place with 4 bolts?

Does the bowroller rest on the casting, or is it cantilevered a little

above it?
