[Public-list] Affixing Forward Hatch Questions

We have a brand new (at least partly brand new) forward hatch for
Andante.  I am looking for suggestions on both the gasket (i.e. where to
buy and what size/profile) and how to affix the hatch to the boat.  The
new hatch is a replica of the old one, a teak trapezoid topped by the
original plexiglass top.  The old one was through bolted to the hinges.
Do I want to through bolt it again?  If so, any particular technique
(drilling the hatch, washers, boring out space for the nuts, etc.)?  How
about well sealed wood screws instead?
