[Public-list] Cape Dory 30 Ketch vs. A30?

My two cents: When I was looking to buy a boat a few years ago, I considered
the same boats that you are considering. The Bristol 29.9 is a spacious,
stiff sailer that will provide an excellent means to coastal cruise or go
off shore. Yet, you will pay extra for the space. In fact you will likely
pay twice as much for the Bristol as you would for an Alberg 30. The Cape
Dory Ketch is also a fine cruiser. I think you will find it suitable as
well but it will likely be the slowest of the three and it will not point
very well.

The bottom line comes down to the cost and appearance. Using these
criteria, the Alberg 30 will be number one. Practical Sailor has done
reviews on all three of these boats in their boat review publication. You
may want to purchase the books to help you decide.
