[Public-list] Galley Sink Fixture

Pete - I installed a galley water pump. What pushed me into it was
spending an hour emptying the tank by hand at the end of the year. In
some ways you can save water because you can control it more precisely.
It is easy to use a lot though.
We got an inline filter from West Marine, but I am sure a home depot
icemaker filter would work. The filter made a huge difference in the
taste of the water, but clogged up in less than a aeason. It might take
more than one filter to clear out accumulated gunk.

I will check to be sure, but I didn't see a filter
anywhere. It may be clogged at the base of the pump
or somewhere along the line. There are many little
flakes of greenish brown stuff in the water that I
think are dried slime that coated the inside of the
hose and dried into flakes during years of not being
used.
I plan to replace the line from tank to sink. It had
clear vinyl hose (single ply not reinforced). Is that
adequate or should I use something better?

What kind of filter do you use? Is it a "Home Depot"
type thing? One of the little disposable ones that
look like a caulking tube and are used for icemakers
maybe? (too much restriction?) Or a bigger one that
you can change cartridges in?
