[Public-list] was inverter now DC electronics

I just went to the raymarine web site to find the answer.  The ST30 series
of instruments can be powered individually or can be connected as a loop,
they call this seatalk.  Only one cable connects each instrument together
so it would appear that the 3rd pin is probably  a data link connection. 
If you want the owners manual it is available as a down load.
