If you are worried about complete shut off while the boat is sitting a while at a marina, you can place a heavy duty household timer in the 110 side.  Just set it to leave the charger on for a couple hours a day.  When traveling take it out so you can recharge overnight if tied up.

Note the "Heavy Duty Timers" are three wire, while most household ones are two wire.  They are in Home Depot and Lowes right next to the normal household ones.
