[Public-list] Draft vs depth

My documentation papers show "depth" as 6.7 and "breadth" as 8.6

I always thought this was the "height and width" and not the "draft and 
beam" and was used to determine volume so as to determine tonnage which 
I understood did not refer to displacement.

Which all sounds even more confusing.
