Perhaps so.......but what we CAN thank you for,  is keeping the old skills alive by passing them around and maybe a few of us will learn that some times the "low tech" ways work just fine.

  Don't thank me - the sea furl is likely centuries old!

  Longer reef points won't help furling the mainsail because they will be
  inside the furled bundle.  The tail of the vang is perfect.
