Dan Klaco of Klaco Spars confirmed to me Mike's methodology. SS machine 
screws in tapped holes is the far better way to go - Dan said put some 
caulking on the threads (I guess Tefgel would also work) to reduce corrosion 
of the aluminium threads in the mast and make it easier to remove them if 
you have to at some future date. It's time consuming but a better, stronger 
result.

If you insist on using rivets, SS is the way to go but the average Home 
Depot Rivet gun will not work with so many SS rivets to drive (manual guns 
usually state for aluminium only) - you will need either a hydraulic or 
pneumatic gun - if you can't rent one buying is $$$.

If you need any new track sections, Schaefer makes the T track and you can 
splice it in to your original.
