[Public-list] Cockpit settee drain-related leaks

Hello all,

I had similar "leakage" problems. The worst of it actually occurred during winter layup, when water from a hole in a tarp ended up flooding the cabin. I had also observed the bilge filling much more rapidly than expected when it rained. Both problem was traced to plugged drains under the cockpit seats.

Now, at the end of every season (and during the season occasionally), I run a wire through them and pour water through. This can be a bit of a pain due to the T fittings that are narrower than the tubing, but it is WELL worthwhile, as I have learned the hard way. I have ended up replacing most sections of that hose along the way, as it it becomes rdgid and brittle with age.

Another obscure item (posted before) -- Don't forget to check the ground wire on the gas filler at the beginning of the season.
