John Hilton Beach is on St. Joseph Island at the western end of the North Channel. It is located where the St. Joseph Channel opens up into the North Channel. Legend has it that Longfellow penned the poem Hiawatha in the area. It is a very beautiful area of the North Channel which gets very little traffic. Brian Zinser
