[Public-List] Looking for a used Atmoic 4

Mike -

There is no real way to machine a block in place. That having been said,
removing the whole thing from the boat is pretty simple, and you will have
to do it anyway if you get a replacement motor. Once out, you can take it
to a machine shop & see if it can be cleaned up or not.

I have an old-style head I can donate to the cause for the price of
shipping, if that helps, but it is pretty corroded & should be hot tanked &
possibly trued up prior to use. I had a block with valves at the house
until a few weeks ago, but it got water in it & stuck, so I scrapped it out
(it was in rough shape too but could have pulled valves & such).

e-mail me off-line about the head if interested.

And, Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to all!

The damage icluded:

We broke the head in half

I broke 1 stud off in the block, below the machined surface

I broke 2 valves off

And there is some pretty serious damage to the top of the block, especially
in the front where the crow bar entered. The block needs to be machined, but
I do not know if it can be machine in the boat or if it can be machined
enough to get a good seal on a replacement head. Does anyone know if is
possible to machine the block, in the boat?

In my defense, most of the damage was already done by the time I showed up
on the scene. I take responsibility for breaking of the stud and the valves.
Man, that head was really stuck - it had ot been removed in over 40
