The problem I have had with Marelon valves is that over time the freeze up
and you cannot open or close them.

Greetings,

Those thinking of through-hull fittings and seacocks at this time may
be interested in the following links from Forespar, distributors
     of Marelon products.

A general search under Marelon seacocks will yield many dozens of
opinions regarding advantages of plastic (Marelon) or bronze
seacocks and through-hull fittings. Personally, I’d stick with
bronze when possible, but have used Marelon seacocks or ball
valves in odd places where a very lightweight valve was needed.
