Funny you should mention that...
We are playing around with a new rope called 'Paraloc' that is made in
Europe; most of it is high tech sheets and halyards (we do that stuff too)
but one version is nylon with rubber woven into the braid; it is made
specifically for mooring lines. Imagine a cross between bungy cord and
braided rope.
If anybody wants to contact me off line I will tell them about it.
