[Public-list] Cockpit drains above water line

When you are heeled enough to back flow the scupper, there is also a lot of 
spray flying and other water in the cockpit.  The only time I had a major 
problem with water coming up the scuppers was when we had too many people 
aboard for cocktails.  Solution in this case, there are two:
1.  Don't sweat the small stuff, have a drink.
2.  Corks

Just another thought on this: If you want to stop the leeward side of
the cockpit getting wet  because it gets below the waterline when on a
heel,  (albeit not quite as far over as Gord, so that the cockpit drains
over the low side), then a crossover of the drain hoses under the
cockpit floor will prevent that. However, this configuration also makes
it more difficult to get to the after end of the motor and fuel tank
under the cockpit floor.
