[Public-list] Centre Hatch on 1965 A30

This is exactly how it works on my boat. The hinge on the main cabin
hatch is forward. When I am at anchor, open forward hatch and main
cabin hatch, air scoops into the forward hatch and is sucked out the
aft hatch. It does improve ventilation in the middle of the cabin
markedly. I can also use it while sailing, without getting spray down
below. It serves as a good exhaust ventilator then, too. I also use it
in the wintertime when I am using the woodstove as a means to exhaust
warm, moist cabin air and keep things dry down below.

If I had a dodger, I suspect it would not be as big a benefit, since
the dodger effectively acts as a very large cowl, but I don't have
that (yet).

I have a dorade ventilator in the head as well. It faces aft.

All of these ventilators came installed on my boat. I have no idea
whether or not they're original.

Kind regards,

JB
