Yo John,
I am not sure but I think that craft is a good deal softer than grip.
Maybe that's because grip is polyurethane where craft is acrylic. I
don't know for sure. To be honest, I had never heard that craft is
acrylic. I thought that it was just a different polyurethane formula.
I am pretty sure that awlgrip was originally an automotive
paint...very hard. Meant to last a long, long time. I think that craft
is a softer paint that will not stand up to UV, saltwater, etc quite
as well as grip. But it's more flexible and I think it might be easier
to apply.
But I would ask a paint expert about this.
You can call Fawcett Boat Supplies at 410-267-8681 and ask to speak
with Beverly. She knows paint really well. They sell both grip & craft
by the 5 gallon drum there and can tell you the difference for sure.
