Rachel, Very good description of the differences in the boats. I am glad George added the message about the Whitby home-made thru hull fittings, although by now they have either been replaced or the boat has sunk. Anyway here are some details about the Gen II boats. Gen II Boats The decks are cored with balsa, like Gen I the coring stops short of the edges. There is a rudder stuffing box (which is near impossible to reach). Lazarette hatch is a fiberglass hatch with teak veneer plywood inlay. The mast beam is an aluminium box beam which is integrated into the liner.
