Whitby seems to have had a lot of variety in construction 
details, so I don't want to make sweeping statements, but 
Bruce Rankin engineered/fabricated a lot of the 
'ventilated' taffrails in the '70's.

I thought all the Albergs (nonliner) had solid taffrails 
from the factory.
