[Public-List] Length of anchor roller

Greetings Jonathan,

Our Alberg30 Kilwinning #446 carries two anchors on rollers at the bow. When
we took Kilwinning south we made sure we had some holding power although in
the Thousand Islands of the St.Laurence it may be overkill.  The rollers
hold a 30# plow and a 22# Bruce.  If you want a picture contract me at

I know that there has been discussion on the list regarding installing an
anchor roller. However, I cannot recall any discussion on the length that
the roller has to extend beyond the bow in order to carry specific kinds of
anchors.

How far forward to people have their roller extending? Presumably it needs
to extend less for a plow versus a danforth.

What kind of anchor makes sense for the bow position? What size? I was
thinking a 22lb CQR
