In my humble opinion:
If you can grab the inside portion of the tube and keep it from spinning any
further, the rest of the job is easy. Either way, the recaulking/bedding
might be or might not be required. Might as well try to unscrew the housing.
When I did mine, it unscrewed fairly easily.
