That's ultimately what we did.  Used the 3M Marine Premium Fairing.  Seemed to go on fairly easily.  

I'll probably hit it tonight with a jitterbug to smooth it for painting (or final filling, we'll see how good a job I did with the first pass.

I'll report the result back next year when we haul to paint again.
