[Public-List] Autopilot

For some unknown reason that was my Dad's name for my sisters when the
were misbehaving - "Hey Susie, knock if off". 
When the boys misbehaved it was "Watch it, Jocko".

So Susie is my first misbehaving female helmsman when Pat is not
aboard.....

I have to ask....... so why Susie

My wife's Aunt & Uncle called their autopilot  " George " ,  but that
was understandable ......  he was an RAF  bomber pilot during the war.
Does anyone know why the brits called it George ?
