[Public-List] Mooring Pendants

Does anyone have experience using wire or chain as a mooring pendant? My 
Alberg is on a large lake is exposed to most winds and takes a pounding 
often. The Alberg is in a mooring field and does not have the luxury of 
a long scope for the rope pendant. I have had to replace a couple of 
pendants in the last season. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
