[Public-List] lightning protection & grounding plates

Greetings All,

This is my first post. My sailing instructor noted that since insurance
companies do not require/prohibit anything with respect to lighting the jury
is definitely out.

Another incident reported by Tom Neale had two sail boats in the same
anchorage, the one with the grounding plate was not struck while the boat
without any grounding was struck.

As Gordon said, *who knows what is best to do*?
