You can't beat the reading on this list. I joined this list because I was looking to buy a boat "Timbukto" I think. A lady on Mobile bay was selling her. I looked at her but did not malke the leap of faith. A feloow bought her and posted on this forum. I would like to hear if he is getting her ready? I am but one who reads about sailing at this point and have been on the water as a hydrographic surveyor for over 30 years now so I have no visions of un earned pleasure on the water. It is pleasing to read the posts on this forum. Perhaps some day I may meet you mariners and ofer my labor for some honest discusion of opinion.

Thank you!

Yo, J. I'm not putting words in your mouth. I was just making some
observations.

I'm not telling you what to do, either. I was just talking about the
options.

BTW, not buying a working sail has more to do with priorities than
affordability. I'm sure you can pick up a decent used one for about the
cost of a dinner out.

But everyone makes their own choices and trade-offs. I was just
pointing out that removing the inner track because you don't have a
working jib is not the only choice. You could, for example, keep it
until you got a working jib. Or you could, for another example, remove
it because you keep tripping over it.

But don't take everything I say on this list as directed to you,
personally. That would rarely be the case.

  - George
