Hi Brian,
Yes I will be around! First weekend in what feels like a year that is
supposed to be nice!! :-)
My slip is Dock "M" number "50". South side of the marina about 3/4's of
the way in.
The boat is still in a state of construction but I would love to see
yours! By the way, I get the feeling you bought a new boat?
Derrick

Hello Everyone!
Well, the engine is now aboard! Things went a lot smoother than I had
anticipated! My friend and I brought the engine down last night and left it
on a skid in the cockpit. No fancy rigging or what have you, just manpower.
We lifted it from the dolly, up onto the winch pad, and then down onto the
pallet. Today I went down and built a stand to support the boom so that the
rig did not have to take all of the strain. The load was split about 50/50
between the rig and the stand. Everything went smooth as can be, and I was
able to get the engine into position (roughly) by myself. I don't remember
who it was who had posted the idea of using the block and tackle to pull the
engine back into position, but thank you, it works amazingly!
For pictures go to http://picasaweb.google.com/Mara.Alberg.30/PoweringUp
and you can see how I set it all up.
Don't think I would have made it half this far without all of the help
from everyone on the list, thank you to all! I can almost feel the steady
vibrations beneath my feet....:-)
Derrick
