John,  

I would love to see the photos if you could please post or send to
r.kingsland at ksba.com.  A folding, alum. amidships ladder came w/ my boat
that I can use until ready for a stern ladder or the ultimate solution which
is a false transom that folds down it become a swim platform/dingy dock.
No, really, when I sketch it on the program (bless those Sundays when the
back page is entirely blank) in church it works beautifully.

I have installed a stern ladder made my self from 1in stainless.  The ladder
drops about 3.5ft into the water to allow you to get out very easily.  I
have photo's that I can upload if needed.
