[Public-List] Lifting Engine with Boom

Hey Derrick,
 
The rig will hold the engine just fine. I assume you have an Atomic 4 weighing in at around 310 lbs. It is very, very important that you support the boom at the point where you will be lifting the engine or else you could bend the boom in half. The best way is to take the main halyard to the boom where the engine lift (I assume a come-along) will be attached. Let the main halyard carry the load to the top of the mast. The shrouds and mast are well supported and can handle the weight. Hope this helps. I am curious to what what other people will respond to this.
