Not having to worry about that is a big reason for a diesel.

We have to have "intrinsically safe" VHF handhelds at work. They are the 
basic $120.00 Standard radio in the West catalog except for a different 
battery pack. They cost over $450.00. It's a real premium to pay for 
marginal increase in safety.
