Hi Bill,
 
You do not have to change the gooseneck. I just put a hook where the bolt that holds the tack shackle to the boom and added some reefing lines to the boom. Just lower the sail, hook the reef cringle on the hook, tighten the outboard reefing line and retension the halyard.
