[Public-List] Water tank on pre-liner boats

Hello Albergers,
Now that the Boat is out of the water, I had the time to start my first
project of installing a holding tank.
First I removed the wooden plank of the V-Bert port side by drilling out the
screws (I had to scrape the paint away to find where the screws were
located). On the hull side, the wooden plank was solidely tabed with
fibreglass to the hull. So I used my car-jack and lifted the hole plank
until the joint broke cleanly off the wood (the tabing is still there).
Then I repeated the same on the starboard side as I also wanted to look at
the water tank.
This watertank is a solid fibreglass tank that is heavily tabed along the
left and right side to the hull and to the wood structure (seat) of the
V-bert. Unfortunaetly this tank has no alu-cover as described in several old
Forums. I assume, this is because it is a pre-liner boat.
I would like to cut-the tabing on the 3 sides and remove the tank and
replace it with a new one. My question - does the tank have any structural
function, considering the tank is heavily tabed along the left and right
side to the hull?
With best regards
