Good day Roger -
Having the main genoa sheet winches aft is an anomaly; I have never seen
that done in an A30.
Normally, the forward pads are for the main winches. The sheet is led from
the clew of the sail through a moveable sheet block, then to a stationary
foot block that sets the sheet up to approach the winch at the correct angle
whatever position the sheet block is in. my A30, a liner boat, has a
lifeline stanchion in just the right position to serve as the anchor for the
foot block, which we shackle to the bale on the stanchion base.
If you like I can send you pictures or a drawing off-list.
Cheers - Gord #426 SURPRISE
