Jeff, I have a starting battery in the bilge compartment in front of the
engine and two house batteries behind the engine where the fuel tank was
with a hatch in the cockpit sole.

#521 is a liner boat and also has had her inboard removed.  I keep two 
6V batts in what was the engine compartment.  Not a solution for 
everyone of course.
